Description
The Sent Residency is a learning community that comes together for mutual support, encouragement, and equipping in mission, evangelism, and discipleship. It includes a Thursday night family gathering and an outreach each week. The outreach can be any regular interaction with the lost that Jesus leads you into. We recommend joining us either on Thursdays for TNL or Sunday mornings at the Merchant so that we can participate as a group. However, this is not required. The point is to purposefully be with people who are far from God with the intention of showing them His love and sharing the Good News with them.
Many of us struggle with sharing Jesus with others, and yet it is the clear desire of the Father that we do so. Fortunately, He has given us some wonderful helps in this - the Holy Spirit that lives in us, our friends that strengthen and support us, and His gospel which has inherent power to bring salvation. Together, we can significantly grow in our confidence and competence in making disciples.
In the residency, we’ll focus on a particular method of helping people to grow in Jesus, called Discovery Bible Study. This is a relational and obedience-based discipleship model that has been central in numerous disciple-making movements around the world.
Prayer is central to making disciples. We gather to pray for God’s mission each Sunday evening for an hour as well as each Wednesday morning. As part of the residency, you will be asked to join us at least once per month.
