SENT Team & Training Center
The Latest
We are calling the new Team and Training Center Mirembe House. Mirembe means “Peace” in Luganda. After many ups and downs, things are moving at a good pace. We expect to move in by this January! We still have work to do, but the end is in sight. We are so grateful and excited about this opportunity. If you would like to be part of helping us get to the finish line, please hit the link here:

The Vision
We have been gifted with a beautiful plot of land just a couple of miles from Masaka, Uganda. Our vision for this space is for it to be used as a place of training, of hospitality, and of prayer. We envision hosting retreats, small intensive training events, and regular learning cohorts. We also foresee housing interns from Uganda and other nations and also teams who come to participate in God’s work in Masaka. We intend to have a prayer room that will be open to the community as a quiet and creative place to meet with Jesus, and also to host seasons of prayer in which we mobilize local believers to join us in praying nonstop for specific seasons of time.
The Need
We are underway with the building and are so excited! In fact, the finish line is in sight. A tentative estimate has been given of $15,000 to complete the entire project. If you would like to help, please reach out to us or simply click the image to donate to this project. Choose Building Project in the drop-down list under ‘Designated To.’

More Details
Our vision for this space is multi-faceted, and we are earnestly seeking the Lord’s guidance in all of it. One of the things that excites us is the equipping opportunities that will be opened up or improved. This building has been designed in such a way that we will have a good setting for bringing small training cohorts together of as many as 50 people for non-residential events. The environment is quiet, beautiful, and away from the distractions that often hinder our trainings. Through partnerships with our friends who own a guest house within walking distance, we should even be able to host up to 30 people for multi-day events. In the building itself, we’ll be able to readily house fifteen people. Again, this will be so helpful for training purposes. We will be able to pull people away for a two to three days of focused learning and relational investment at relatively low cost. We also envision hosting retreats for Christian leaders, enabling them to come away for teaching and experiences focused on prayer and spiritual formation. In fact, the possibilities seem almost endless. Because of the building set-up with our family on the second floor - present yet also with some privacy - we feel that we’ll be able to conduct or host many short retreats and different types of trainings without being over-burdened. Such relational equipping and investment is sorely needed in our context, and we’re very excited at the thought of being able to provide this at a higher volume than we currently can.
In addition to this, we look forward to using the space as a team center. We’ll be able to more easliy host short-term teams who come to work alongside us and learn from our ministry prartners and friends. Again, we’ll be able to readily host 15 people ourselves, and more than double that number in cooperation with our friends at the guest house. We look forward to teams from the US as well as from here in Uganda coming to serve together in the Lord’s work in Masaka. This will also allow us the opportunity to do more in hosting interns and other short to medium length stays for individuals and teams.
There is an individual-sized prayer room in the facility as well, and we are excited about having this set-aside space available for teams, learning cohorts, and members of the community. We look forward to hosting seasons of prayer and to introducing some different, creative prayer practices as we champion personal time alone with God. Of course, we also anticipate hosting prayer gatherings using the bigger training room.
Another thing that excites us about this building is its location on Hallelujah Mountain and close proximity to the ministry of Love and Care. Our friends Darren and Fatuma, who gave us the land, lead a beautiful ministry that brings the hope and love of Jesus in a loving and grace-filled environment to kids who have been abandoned or who live on the streets for whatever reason. We have come to know a number of these children already, and certainly look forward to much more interaction and access that will come with living so close.
